Institute of Directors (IoD)

Institute of Directors (IoD) Diploma in Company Direction

Integrated with, and building on the Certificate Programme, the Diploma Programme focuses on broadening and strengthening the director’s understanding of strategic management thinking. The Diploma provides an opportunity to delve deeper into the role of the director and the board and put into practice the knowledge gained from the Certificate in a realistic leadership environment. It encourages peer group support, challenge and stimulation, mirroring in many ways the operation of a board.

The Diploma in Company Direction (Stage 2) builds on the Certificate to cover additional functional areas: (1) Understanding marketing and human resource strategy and how they interact with the corporate strategy, and (2) Structuring the organisation for future success based on the business objectives

The programme leading to the Diploma, ‘Developing Board Performance’, is a compulsory programme to be attend prior to sitting the examination.

Date/Time: 24, 25 & 26 October 2017, 08:30 - 17:00

Training Duration: 21 hours over 3 training days

Location: CIIM Nicosia ( View Map )

The three day interactive course requires delegates to act as board members, central to the activities and running of the organisation. You will challenge and utilise skills gained from your experience as a director in an applied and dynamic way, as a board facing a variety of challenges and crises, and demonstrate strategic vision to move the business forward.  The programme is followed by the Diploma examination.

In addition, you will understand your board's role, its dynamic, power, influence and conflicts. You will gain knowledge of important topics including risk and crisis management, decision-making, mergers and acquisitions, and board performance.

Furthermore, you will attain relevant techniques and tools to improve personal skills, as well as evaluate and improve the performance of your boards, its committees and individual directors.

This training workshop is aimed at directors and individuals who have completed the IoD’s  Certificate in Company Direction (Stage 1) and wish to gain the Diploma in Company Direction.
